Mama's Tea Cakes
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 Teaspoons Vanilla Flavoring
3 1/2 Cups Sifted Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
4 Eggs
Cream butter, sugar and eggs, add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add by hand. If necessary more flour may be used to make dough stable enough to knead. Place dough on a floured board and roll out fairly thick. Do not roll the dough out thin. Cut out dough with biscuit cutter. Place cakes on a greased sheet. Do not let sides touch. Bake at 400 until browned. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Enjoy with a hot cup of your favorite tea.
